…and what lights me up is seeing those I work with become and achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Today I understand how to make marketing the glitter glue that brings all the parts of your business together while being a creative expression of yourself… but it’s taken some fails and falls and get back-ups.
Probably much like you, I’ve always had entrepreneurial dreams. This is now my third business, but I’ve been where you are.
My first venture was in knitwear and accessories design. My second one came about when motherhood changed my focus, and I created a play cafe and education space (mainly because I desired to have a place and community I wanted to be part of).
With both these very different businesses, my knowledge and confidence grew, but somehow I never quite made the money and impact I hoped to. My clients loved what I was doing so I knew it wasn’t the product. It was everything else!
As I hadn’t figured it out on my own, I hired a business coach. I wanted someone to get in the weeds with me, support and help me identify the priorities that would actually move the needle forward; show me how to carry out effective online marketing that converts interest to sales; and bring greater ease and efficacy into my business so I could truly make the money and impact I wanted. Both in the world and for my family.
It didn’t happen.
I mean, I did hire a business coach, and as incredibly confident as they were, I soon discovered they didn’t actually have the skills needed or understand what to prioritize or focus on to create a healthy, sustainable business. It was beyond frustrating. So I thought screw this, I’m going to become the kind of coach that small businesses and people like me really need. And that’s exactly what I did.
Along with all the business education and training I could get my hands on, I spent another four years working in marketing - to learn everything I could about the digital marketing world: content creation, selling, copywriting, and how all the pieces knit together to create a business and life that feels meaningful and exciting!
